Minutes of the HOA meeting August 4, 2023
Minutes were read, passed and approved. Of the last financial statements available, the amount of $6097.22 is in the bank. The electric bill this month was $34.88 and the water bill was $12.50. This was read and approved.
There are still dues that have not been paid, despite multiple notices being sent. The legal process has been helpful in collecting some of these. It was noted that the executive committee meets to set the agenda for the next meeting. It was noted that some private, personal / sensitive information is sometimes shared in these meetings. This is one reason those executive meetings are not open to the general population on the cove. We are still looking for volunteers to do some jobs on the cove. See Andrew regarding what needs to be
done. In addressing the erosion problem with the ditch behind the homes on the east side of the cove the city of Hernando has gotten a grant approved for work to begin soon, putting down the decorative rock (rip wrap?), to stop this problem. City has indicated that trees on the east side of the bank will be removed.
Thanks to Andrew and Amber Pipkin for the new bench out front. We are still seeking soaker hoses for the front. Brad has donated a sprinkler. Replacement plants and additional mulch, as well as iron camps on the fence, is expected in the near dfuture.
Josh Buckingham, who lives on the street, has been employed for $100 a month to cut the front and keep the beds cleaned. We voted to continue this service.
It was proposed to change quarterly meetings to the first quarter and third quarter of the year and only to do newsletters the second and fourth quarter of the year. This was proposed and passed. We also discussed having a possible fall cookout in the cove. It was decided to send out a questionnaire to see exactly how many people would be interested and how many from each family would be attending before spending money on food and supplies.
It was discussed that volunteers might be needed to pressure wash the bricks and the curb out front, along with painting the iron part of the front fence with Rustoliem, to keep it from rusting.
Misty mentioned the possibility of lowering the HOA fees. This will be looked into, although fees have been lowered already in the past from $150 to now being $110. Meeting was dismissed.
